5356 Aluminium Sheet

Aluminum alloy 5356 is a commonly used filler metal for welding aluminum alloys, particularly in the construction and fabrication of marine and structural components. It is often employed in gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) processes.

Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 38,000 psi (262 MPa)
Yield Strength: 29,000 psi (200 MPa)
Elongation: 18%
Physical Properties:
Density: 2.68 g/cm3 (0.0975 lb/in3)
Melting Range: 575oC-632oC (1067oF-1170oF)
Typical Uses:
Welding and fabrication of aluminum structures
Marine applications
Automotive components
Structural components in construction
Welding:
5356 is known for its good fluidity and penetration characteristics.
It provides good strength and ductility in the as-welded condition.
Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG): Commonly used for welding applications where high deposition rates are desired.
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG): Suitable for applications where high-quality welds are required, such as in the aerospace industry.
