7075 Aluminium Sheet

Aluminum alloy 7075 is a high-strength, heat-treatable alloy widely used in aerospace, military, and high-performance applications. Known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and good fatigue resistance, 7075 is often chosen for critical structural components.

Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 83,000 psi (572 MPa)
Yield Strength:73,000 psi (503 MPa)
Elongation: 11%
Physical Properties:
Density: 2.78 g/cm³ (0.100 lb/in³)
Melting Range: 475°C-635°C (887°F-1175°F)
Typical Uses:
♦ Aircraft and aerospace components, including fuselage parts and wing structures
♦ High-stress structural components in the defense and military industries
♦ High-performance bicycle frames
♦ Rock climbing equipment
♦ Motorsports applications
Welding:
7075 is considered difficult to weld due to its high susceptibility to cracking, particularly in the heat-affected zone. Welding should be approached with care, and specialized techniques may be required.
Corrosion Resistance:
7075 has good corrosion resistance, but it is not as corrosion-resistant as some other aluminum alloys. Its corrosion resistance can be further improved with protective coatings.
