| Welding: |
| 6063 is readily weldable using various welding methods, including gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG), and resistance welding. It responds well to fusion and resistance welding processes. |
| Corrosion Resistance: |
| 6063 has good corrosion resistance, particularly in outdoor and architectural applications. Its resistance to corrosion can be further enhanced with various surface treatments, such as anodizing. |

T5: Cooled from an elevated temperature shaping process and artificially aged. This is the most common temper for 6063 extrusions, providing good strength and formability.
